Nebraska Gamma (Creighton) Phi Awarded Fulbright Fellowship to Canada

rob_placek.jpgRob Placek, (Nebraska Gamma, 2012) has been awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to Canada for the 2012-2013 academic year.  Rob was one of fewer than 20 students chosen to receive a Fulbright to Canada to spend a year preforming academic research.  Rob’s project titled “The Effect of Nativism on Political and Voting Behavior in Canada” will be conducted at the University of British Columbia under the direction of Dr. Fred Cutler.  This research project focuses on attitudes Canadian-born citizens have regarding immigrants and how that may affect the way Canadians vote.  Rob will also be working with Dr. Cutler on analyzing data from the Canadian Election Study.

While at the University of British Columbia, Rob will be living at the Phi Delta Theta house on campus and will assist the chapter in the day-to-day operations of the house and chapter.
