Maryland Gamma (Washington College) Phis Selected as Captains of Men’s Rowing Team

Parker McIntosh (197) and Jeffrey Nutting (209) will serve as captains for Washington College’s Men’s Rowing team for the 2012-2013 academic year.

This is Nutting’s second year as a team captain.  As a coxswain, he has guided the second-varsity eight to a Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference (MARC) championship twice.  In 2010 and 2012, he guided a boat to the semifinals of the prestigious Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia.

McIntosh was awarded Washington College’s Elizabeth “Bo” Blanchard Memorial Sportsmanship Award in 2012.  He has earned MARC Academic All-Conference honors each of the past two years.  McIntosh was part of the varsity eights that won MARC championships in 2010 and 2011.  In 2012, he was a part of the semifinalist varsity four at the Dad Vail Regatta.  Currently, McIntosh holds the second fastest time in school history for a 6k and the fourth fastest time for a 2k.

The Phis start their fall rowing season on October 13th.
