After months of hard work and determination, alumni, brothers, and inductees gathered together on January 26, 2013 to witness and experience the memorable induction of 34 men who are now the Founding Fathers of the Florida Xi Colony of Phi Delta Theta.
The night began with a welcome speech from one of Phi Delta Theta’s alumni and current Province President Doug Wiles. He recognized the strength and dedication of the young inductees as he gave words of wisdom and support to them.
After the welcome speech, inductees vowed their loyalty to the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and to their fellow Founding Fathers. The colony members then received their colony pins, Phikeia manuals and signed their names to seal their oath of commitment to the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity.
As the night progressed, the new colony members mingled with alumni and local brothers from the Florida Zeta Chapter at Jacksonville University. Colony President Michael Bell gave an inspirational speech about the strength of their bond and requested that they strive for nothing less than the best in everything they do.
Chaplain Mike Prendergast led the colony, alumni, and the Florida Zeta Chapter in prayer to close the night’s historical event. The Founding Fathers left knowing they are on their way to making a difference.
