This spring, the Texas Beta Chapter at the University of Texas at Austin successfully recruited 14 Phikeias, the largest spring Phikeia class that the chapter has had in a decade. With the addition of these 14 men, the chapter has successfully recruited 42 new members this year. Thanks to the efforts of Recruitment Committee, led by Phi Brandon Lutz, the chapter was able to reach a large number of high quality men.
Texas Beta has revamped their recruitment process by having active members build meaningful relationships with potential new members before asking them to consider joining their brotherhood. The chapter credits this strategy for spurring incredible growth. The chapter’s Phikeias are men of high moral character, strong leaders, and men committed to high academic pursuits.
Within the Phikeia class are two men whose families have already devoted themselves to Phi Delta Theta. Phikeia Wynn Cary comes from a long line of Phis, including former General Council President T. Glen Cary and Wynn’s father Lance. Phikeia Nathan McNutt’s brother Ryan was recently initiated as a Phi at the University of Oklahoma. Texas Beta is excited about their new class and the impact that they will have on their bright future.
