New York Kappa is proud to announce that the chapter has earned the honor of becoming the first Greek organization at Hofstra to earn a 5 Star rating. The 5 Star program was introduced to Hofstra’s Greek community in the Spring of 2012. The program centers around five major themes: academia, university engagement, leadership development, service and philanthropy and community.

New York Kappa was also awarded the Good Neighbor Award for its community service efforts within the local community.

The chapter was also recently named the 2013 Greek Week Champions. After eight days of competitions, New York Kappa received a total of 1,325 points, taking first place with a 175-point lead. Sigma Pi came in second place with 1,150 points while Delta Chi came in third at 925 points.New York Kappa took first place in Volleyball, Dodgeball, Tug-of-War, Can Castle Design, and Skit, and placed in every other competition except for one.
