Glasses clinked as the tables were arranged. Guests trickled in and soon UCLA’s Ackerman Grand Ballroom was abuzz with friendly banter between members of the Greek community at UCLA, the soon to be installed members of Phi Delta Theta’s California Gamma Chapter and their guests. On the evening of May 18th, 2013, after three years of hard work and dedication, California Gamma was once again became a chapter.
The now initiated brothers of California Gamma worked hard to get to this point. From humble beginnings as an interest group with meetings held at a Carl’s Jr. to colonization, the brothers each experienced many triumphs and trials. The chapter is excited to hit the ground running as a chapter, striving to achieve new goals at UCLA.
The installation ceremony kicked off with a selection of Phi Delt songs as well as a newly composed piece by California Gamma’s Chorister and Theater major Brady Stanley. General Council President Chris Lapple presided over the installation ceremony, bringing with him the original documentation of the organization’s charter approved by the University of California, Southern Branch in October 8th, 1920.
The brothers would like to thank all those involved in the re-installation process for all of their hard work and dedication to the chapter.
