Phi Delta Theta’s Iron Phi program is proud to announce that it has named Tough Mudder as its featured event series. Iron Phi and Tough Mudder have come together to develop a partnership that has one goal – to encourage members of Phi Delta Theta to become Iron Phis at Tough Mudder events across the world by providing opportunities for a fun, challenging, philanthropic and affordable experience.
Tough Mudder events are hardcore obstacle courses designed to test all-around strength, stamina, mental grit and camaraderie. With the most innovative courses, over one million inspiring participants worldwide to date, and more than $6.5 million raised for Wounded Warrior Project, Tough Mudder is the premier adventure challenge series in the world. But Tough Mudder is more than an event; it’s a way of thinking. By running a Tough Mudder challenge, participants unlock a true sense of accomplishment, have a great time and discover a camaraderie with their fellow participants.
“Individuals who participate in Tough Mudder and Iron Phi have many common values,” said Steve Good, Phi Delta Theta’s Director of Communications and Iron Phi. “They like a great challenge, enjoy athletic camaraderie and are philanthropic. It only makes sense for Phi Delta Theta to encourage our Iron Phi participants to consider Tough Mudder events when they are in search of an Iron Phi event. We hope that the partnership will mobilize more Phis to become Iron Phis.”
In 2014, Tough Mudder will host events in more than 60 locations across the world. Visit Tough Mudder’s website for further information and a list of upcoming events.
Melissa Benjamin, Enterprise Relations Associate at Tough Mudder, said, “Tough Mudder is excited to welcome Phi Delta Theta members into Mudder Nation. We believe Iron Phi’s focus on teamwork and philanthropy aligns perfectly with Tough Mudder’s belief in creating unconventional, life-changing experiences. We can’t wait to see what kind of energy and determination Iron Phis bring to Tough Mudder events.”

Iron Phi participants can receive one $25 discount per year (July 1 – June 30). An additional $250 must be raised the next year to obtain another $25 discount.

Those who volunteer Saturday can use the discount on Sunday or at any other Tough Mudder event. Those who volunteer Sunday can use the discount at any future Tough Mudder event.
