From October 28th – November 2nd, the University of Nevada – Las Vegas (UNLV) celebrated its “Haunted Homecoming” week. The week was full of events and games where the fraternities and sororities paired up and competed against different teams and student organizations. A few of the events included a Homecoming float, skit competition, lip sync competition and window decorating contest.
In the end, the brothers of Nevada Beta, paired with the women of Alpha Delta Pi, came in first place and won the 2013 Homecoming trophy. The last time Nevada Beta won Homecoming was in 2011 when they were also paired with Alpha Delta Pi. Along with winning Homecoming, Nevada Beta claimed a spot on Homecoming Court with Brother Roy Winzer being selected as Homecoming royalty. Brother Winzer was nominated by the chapter, submitted his application, and was interviewed before winning this prestigious honor.
Additionally, this past week, the Interfraternity Council at UNLV held its annual elections. Brother Shea Foley was elected as the new Vice President of Marketing, and Brother Roy Winzer was elected as Vice President of Programs. Both brothers will be installed on December 13 to serve the university and Greek community.
