Claude Talmadge “Tal” Bray II, 71, of Tampa, passed away December 5, 2013. Originally of Athens, GA, he was raised and lived in Tampa most of his life. He was a graduate of Hillsborough High School, and receive his Bachelor of Arts degree from University of South Florida, and his Masters Degree from University of Florida. He served as the advisor for Phi Delta Theta Fraternity at University of Tampa and University of South Florida, and served as President of the General Council. He worked in the commercial real estate industry for over 40 years, owning The Founders Group Commercial Real Estate, and later working with Re/Max Bay To Bay. Tal was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, “Big Tal” and Martha; and sister, Carolyn Kovach. He is survived by two nieces, Teri Dobler of Tampa, and Carol Purvis of Odessa; great niece, Rachel Dobler of Tampa; dear friends, Jim (Victoria) McCarthy, and their children Christopher, Shannon, and Meghan; and many Phi Delta Theta Brothers nationwide.
Visitation will be held 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Florida Mortuary, 4601 N. Nebraska Ave, Tampa, FL 33603. Mass will be held at 9:30 AM, Friday, December 13, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 509 N Florida Ave, Tampa, FL 33602.
