SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The New York Epsilon Chapter of Phi Delta Theta welcomed a 12-member Phikeia class at the conclusion of its spring recruitment on Friday, Feb. 21. The class represents the fourth new member class since the chapter re-installed in 2011.
“There are 12 guys who all bring a lot to the table in very different ways,” said Recruitment Chair Alex Hills. “I’m excited to see how they’re going to bring value to New York Epsilon.
The Phikeia class has embarked on a six-week education process, where they will learn the rich history and rituals of not only Phi Delta Theta, but also the steps that the New York-Epsilon chapter has taken to foster friendship, sound learning and moral rectitude.
The fall recruitment caps the chapter’s first year in a new chapter facility at 210 Walnut Drive. Along with enjoying the wild ride that is the 2014 Syracuse basketball season, the chapter has been busy planning its biannual ‘Phed by Phis’ fundraiser. New York Epsilon is also gearing up for a Hunger Games-inspired philanthropy later this semester.
