The Georgia Gamma Chapter at Mercer University swept the Greek Awards this year, including being named the Interfraternity Council Chapter of the Year. Several members also received individual awards. Current Chapter President David Shadix was named Greek Man of the Year. Former Chapter President Jeremy Reardon received the Greek President of the Year, and John Savage was named New Member of the Year. Steve Norris (Georgia College and State University, ‘94) also received the Adviser of the Year Award.
“Two years ago, I had the privilege of being asked to join the Chapter Advisory Board for Georgia Gamma. In the first meeting I attended, I announced to the guys that they were the ‘Kings of the Campus’ and it was time to start making it official. Last week they made it official by winning nearly all the major awards including Best Fraternity at Mercer. I am very proud of all the hard work the brothers have put in! They truly deserve all the awards they won.” – Steve Norris
“Receiving IFC Chapter President of the Year was a great accomplishment, however it was even more rewarding to see the hard work of our entire chapter over the past year being recognized as Mercer University’s IFC Chapter of the Year.” – Jeremy Reardon
“The foundation for an improved and growing chapter has been laid down by the past leaders of the brothers of Georgia Gamma. We hope these awards will carry on the proud tradition we have here and inspire future brothers to achieve more than we did. Proud to be a Phi!” – David Shadix
Finally, Georgia Gamma took home awards for Academic Programming and Member Development. Congratulations to all the men of Georgia Gamma for being a wonderful example of Phi Delt greatness.
