On March 29th, the Texas Beta Chapter at the University of Texas, Austin celebrated Founders Day at Barton Creek Resort in Austin. Current undergraduates and alumni kicked off the day playing golf followed by dinner in the Governors Ballroom. The dinner banquet highlighted recent successes in recruitment such as the initiation of 32 brothers in the fall, the largest pledge class Texas Beta has seen in recent history. Guest speakers included successful businessman J.P. Bryan Jr. who spoke on the subject of leadership, and Hugh Robertson who talked about his recent efforts in reorganizing the local Austin Alumni Club.
Several awards were handed out to Texas Beta undergraduates. The awards included the George Bolin and John Worsham Service Scholarship, received by Brother John Mosele and Brother Ryan Lutz for their outstanding contributions to the chapter. Also, the J.P. Bryan Excellence in Recruitment Award was given to Brother Adam Rippetoe for his exemplary efforts in the recruitment of the 13-man pledge class this semester.
The day as a whole was a great showcase of Texas Beta’s recent strides and its steady resurgence at the University of Texas at Austin.
