On Saturday, May 3rd, the brothers of Iowa Beta held the 6th annual Tug Fest for ALS.
With the fortune of a beautiful day along the Iowa River, 93 teams of 5 sorority women participated in a tug-of-war-tournament with the proceeds going to the Iowa chapter of The ALS Association.
The event featured a DJ who succeeded at keeping the energy of the event up, and a dunk tank where various members of the chapter, including chapter President Sam Wampler, volunteered to get dunked while participants waited for their turn to tug-of-war.
A representative from The ALS Association also attended the event and gave a small speech about the importance of an event like Tug Fest in the operation of The ALS Association and the fight against the horrible disease.
Tug Fest continues to get bigger and better with this year’s event raising close to $7,000.
The men of Iowa Beta are proud of the event, inspired by the support of the of the Greek community at the University of Iowa, and continually motivated to get in the dirt to raise awareness against ALS in the name of Brother Gehrig.
