The alumni of the Iowa Delta Chapter of Phi Delta Theta at Drake University and the Des Moines Alumni Club hosted an alumni barbecue during the annual Drake Relays. In attendance were more than 70 local alumni representing 7 different chapters. Also in attendance was Drake University President Dr. David Maxwell, Dean of the School of Education Dr. Janet McMahill, Vice President for Alumni and Development John Smith and Vice President of Alumni Relations Diane Caldbeck.

In addition to great food and catching up, Iowa Delta alumnus Scott Carlson addressed the focus on raising funds for the Iowa Delta chapter house. The facility is currently occupied by a sorority, but it is managed by Iowa Delta Housing Corporation President Tim Coonan. Also, two staff members from the General Headquarters attended and presented an update regarding the recolonization process for Iowa Delta in the Fall of 2014.
