At the annual Fraternity & Sorority Life Awards Banquet at the University of Texas at El Paso, Phi Delta Theta’s Texas Tau Chapter was recognized for “Outstanding Philanthropic Event of the Year,” for their 4th Annual Iron Turkey 5K hosted each Thanksgiving morning. Also, Brother Omar Khalik was named “Greek Man of the Year.” Omar is the outgoing IFC President and Treasurer of Texas Tau.
At the Orange & Blue Affair, Texas Tau was awarded as the “Greek Organization of the Year.” In honor of UTEP’s centennial celebration, the campus gave the award in the form of a copper brick. They also recognized two brothers with the “Men of Mines Award,” and award selected by UTEP staff and faculty awarding two outstanding graduating candidates who have surpassed their peers in countless areas from each respective college. The chapter is proud to announce that Brother Marco Vega and Brother Taylor Harmon were given the “Men of Mines Award” for their respective colleges! Finally, Brother Hector Soltero, current Senator of the Student Government, was awarded with the “SGA Presidents Choice Award” for his outstanding work throughout the year as a Senator working to make sure that all 200 registered student organizations were being represented by the Student Government.
