The Kansas City Trophy is given to the most outstanding chapter of Phi Delta Theta on a small campus.
Winner: Illinois Gamma – Monmouth College
The Illinois Gamma Chapter at Monmouth College is the largest fraternity at their college and the only one to practice year-round recruitment. The chapter had the largest fraternity recruitment class of 2014, and 34 different student organizations contain members of the chapter. The political editor and photographer for the school newspaper are members of Illinois Gamma. Many members participate in sports, including two members on the swimming and diving team, four members on the water polo team, two men on the tennis team, two on the baseball team and the team manager of the dance team. Illionis Gamma brothers are also very active in student government as members fill the roles of Senate President, Parliamentarian and five Senators. The IFC President is also a member of the chapter. Illinois Gamma placed third on campus in academics with 10 members landing on Dean’s List. The many community service commitments of the chapter include Boy Scouts of America, Kids Against Hunger and many others. The chapter raised $800 for ALS during their “Iron Horse Home Run Derby” event and $3,000 at their ALS benefit dinner.
