The annual Southeastern Interfraternity Conference Leadership Academy was held this past weekend in Atlanta, Georgia. Many IFCs from southern states attended the conference which spanned from February 19–21.

At the conference, New Mexico Alpha (New Mexico) Phi Brandon Aragon was elected Vice President of Vendors/Communications, one of five positions on the board. With the election, Brother Aragon became the first board member from a school west of Louisiana.

“We are blessed to attend a conference such as SEIFC, and it is a great opportunity to connect with many southern universities that have a large Greek presence on campus,” said Brother Aragon.

This was the University of New Mexico’s second year attending the SEIFC Leadership Academy, and Brother Aragon joined many other Phi Delta Theta brothers from across the southeastern region. Next year, SEIFC will celebrate their 50th Anniversary, and Brother Aragon looks forward to being a part of the Leadership Academy. He is also the Outreach & Alumni Chairman for New Mexico Alpha, Vice President of the UNM Interfraternity Council and the Chairman of the New Mexico Federation of College Republicans.
