On Saturday, April 18, the Connecticut Alpha Chapter at Central Connecticut State University hosted its first Walk for ALS on campus to support Phi Delta Theta’s Iron Phi program. With the goal of becoming an Iron Phi Chapter, Connecticut Alpha set their fundraising goal at $10,000.
Leading up to the walk, the chapter hosted fundraisers at local restaurants and businesses along with a raffle to award one individual with an iPad mini. When the chapter opened registration for the walk, they had raised close to $2,900. With three weeks remaining until the walk, the chapter had commitments from 21 sponsors, consisting of both small and large businesses.
On the night before the walk, the chapter was just $125 shy of their $10,000 goal but had day-of registration opportunities to reach it. In the end, Connecticut Alpha became the Fraternity’s newest Iron Phi Chapter by raising $11,147.38!
The chapter would like to thank their sponsors for supporting them: FroyoWorld New Britain, Ahlgren Landscaping, Treanor Real Estate, Hobson Associates, Defib Guy, College Works Painting, M&D Concrete, Highland Park Market, VisionPoint LLC., Taxes Servicios, Preininger Construction, Baths Plus LLC., Spirol International Corporation, Pronto Chop Shop & Pizzeria, Elmer’s Place, Downtown Hartford YMCA, Yogibo, Giovanni’s Brick Oven Pizza, Savings Institute Bank & Trust, The Woodshop by J.
