The Idaho Alpha Chapter at the University of Idaho hosted its 57th Annual Turtle Derby philanthropy event this past weekend. During the derby, each sorority on campus competed by racing a turtle. Between races, baskets were auctioned and t-shirts were sold to raise money for a local organization that was chosen by the chapter.

Idaho Alpha hosts the philanthropy event each year and the chapter is able to proudly say that it is the largest Greek philanthropy event at the University of Idaho. The event raised $3,500 this year, and the chapter will be donating the funds raised to an organization that provides care for people with mental and physical disabilities.
