Brothers of the New Jersey Alpha Chapter raised more than $17,000 for the Rutgers University Dance Marathon held from April 11-12. The chapter had the largest Dance Marathon team with 98 brothers actively fundraising, a number volunteers, and 24 dancers who stayed on their feet for the entire 30-hour event.
New Jersey Alpha raised the third-highest amount among the 48 fraternities at Rutgers. The chapter sponsored two young adults in their efforts – one of them being a family member of a current New Jersey Alpha Phi.
The event raised $692,046.67 for the Embrace the Kids Foundation, an organization that supports the families of children with cancer and blood disorders. New Jersey Alpha has already set a goal for next year – to raise the highest among all fraternities.
