DePauw Tennis 8-1 Win Featured At Least One Phi On Each Winning Court



On September 9, DePauw University Men’s tennis opened the fall portion of its schedule by hosting Marian and the Tigers topped the Knights, 8-1. Indiana Zeta Phis were on each winning court – sometimes two!

DePauw swept the doubles play as the first team of Alec Kaczkowski ’16 and Dan Rodefeld ’17 were 8-6 winners over Jason Denton and Marty Pochop and the second tandem of Patrick Farrell ‘17 and Matthew Quammen defeated Danny Albert and Taylor Kinney, 8-3. John Daseke ’17 and Nate Wallace ,17 topped Jack Hiatt and Alex Wittenbaum, 8-2, at third doubles.

Kaczkowski took a three-set win over Denton at first singles by a 7-5, 3-6, 7-5 count with Farrell defeating Pochop 7-5, 7-6 (3) at the second spot. Rodefeld beat Albert 6-1, 6-2 at third singles with Matt Santen taking a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Nathan Bogle at number five. Daseke was a 6-3, 6-3 winner over Wittenbaum at sixth singles with Marian’s lone win coming at the fourth slot as Hiatt defeated Harold Martin 6-0, 6-2.
