COLLEGE STATION – Sunday at Wolf Pen Creek were some cute furry friends looking for a home.
The Urgent Animals of Hearne Robertson County Animal Shelter and the gentlemen of Texas A&M’s Phi Delta Theta fraternity partnered up for a fundraiser to promote animal shelters and celebrate two years of no euthanasia.
The fundraiser provided free ice cream, giveaways, $1 puppy kisses.
Dogs were there to be adopted, fostered, or just to play with for the event.
“The turnout today has been really amazing. We had about three hundred people say they’d be here on Facebook and now we have double that and that’s been really awesome. Weve got a lot of dogs fostered to adopt and a lot of dogs have been adopted. It’s been an amazing event,” said volunteer Sierra Mountain.
Over 400 people showed up to support the animal shelter.
Volunteers believe the partnership between the animal shelter and fraternity helped increase awareness.
