In early August, Colorado Gamma brother Jack Gause embarked on a road trip with some childhood friends, driving to California for a few days. Upon their return trip home, they were in a severe rollover car accident on I-70 near Grand Junction, CO. Jack was critically injured as was one of his friends that was also in the car. Tragically, the third passenger, who was also Jack’s very close friend, did not survive. After spending time in intensive care at the hospital due to substantial injuries, Jack was finally able to return home and begin his rehabilitation and recovery process. While Jack had to opt out of classes for the fall semester as he works on his recovery, he will be returning to school for the Spring 2016 semester.

On Saturday, October 24, the brothers of Colorado Gamma hosted a 5K on the Colorado State University campus. The race, called Jog for Jack, and a post-race lunch at the chapter facility raised funds to support Jack’s medical and rehabilitation expenses. From race participation, the post-race lunch, sponsorships, and community donations (via GoFundMe), the chapter was able to raise a little over $13,000 for their brother. The event was incredibly successful with the chapter having over 300 people participate in the 5K and/or the post-race lunch.
