Over Halloween weekend, approximately 50 members of the Indiana Alpha Chapter participated in the Indiana University Dance Marathon (IUDM), the second largest student-run philanthropic event in the country benefiting Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. Brothers Ryan Cason, Collin Hickey, and Nick Strafford served on the Executive Council and dozens of others worked year-round on committees to raise funds and plan the event.
IUDM is a 36-hour event where participants are awake and on their feet dancing and playing with patients from Riley the entire time. IUDM raised $3,880,025.22 for Riley this year and has donated a total of nearly $25 million to the Ryan White Center for Infectious Disease at Riley over the past 25 years. This year’s total was the largest year-to-year increase in Children’s Miracle Network history and is a record high for IUDM.
