Brothers Brandon Wiles ‘16 and Gerard McQueen ’18 of Tennessee Eta were recently elected to the 2016 Interfraternity Council Executive Board at Middle Tennessee State University.

Brandon will serve as Vice President of Community Relations, following a two-month stint stepping in for the previous chair. Gerard will serve as Vice President of Recruitment.

Brandon’s responsibilities include recording minutes for each council meeting, facilitating communications between chapters and the community as a whole, developing marketing strategies and overseeing all official communications. Gerard is responsible for recruiting future fraternity men, driving interest in the fraternity community at MTSU, organizing recruitment events and providing a contact list to chapter recruitment chairs.

Gerard strives to foster fraternity growth on campus by recruiting from other campus organizations, while also building a more involved community. Brandon looks to revamp social media and improve campus relations.

The two aren’t strangers to leadership in their community and chapter. Brandon has served as public relations chair for Tennessee Eta as well as Greek Week and SGA Homecoming committees. Gerard is the chapter intramural chair and has been on IFC and chapter recruitment committees since shortly after his initiation last fall. Both are re-founding members of the responsible drinking organization Greeks Advocating the Mature Management of Alcohol (GAMMA) at MTSU.

Though Tennessee Eta chartered only two years ago, five Phis have been elected to the IFC Executive Board at MTSU.
