The holiday season is upon us. We will soon encounter gatherings with friends and family, gift giving and copious amounts of delicious food and drink. It’s a wonderful time of the year, but it can be a time when the temptations and weather cause many to place their fitness goals on the back burner until the New Year.
Phi Delta Theta’s Iron Phi program is excited to introduce the 2015 Iron Phi Holiday Streak, a new tradition that will help keep the holiday excess in check as participants raise dollars to fund valuable ALS research and Phi Delta Theta leadership development programs.
The 2015 Iron Phi Holiday Streak challenges participants to run at least one mile per day between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day (37 days!).
Not a runner? That’s ok! Select an activity that works best for you. Whether it’s walking a mile, visiting the gym, lifting weights, doing a certain number of sit-ups/push-ups, or exercising for a certain amount of time each day, feel free to customize the activity to your interests.
During the streak, participants are encouraged to raise dollars (any amount) through their personal Iron Phi fundraising page at www.ironphi.org. Those who surpass the $1,000 fundraising amount will become Iron Phis in the process. Those who do not surpass $1,000 will have a great fundraising base to become an Iron Phi in 2016!
In early January, the Fraternity will celebrate those individuals who become Iron Phis while completing the Holiday Streak on its social media platforms. These individuals will also receive the normal Iron Phi benefits.
To participate, simply register and setup your personal fundraising page at www.ironphi.org. Enter “2015 Iron Phi Holiday Streak” as your event upon registration.
Already registered and working toward becoming an Iron Phi? Simply edit your personal fundraising page and tell your potential donors about your new goal.
Already an Iron Phi? Consider raising a few hundred dollars to add to your total. The Iron Phi Holiday Streak could become an annual tradition to further your Iron Phi success!
We hope that you will join us in making this holiday season even better. We promise that the streak will set you up for a successful 2016.
