The California Theta Chapter of Phi Delta Theta at UC Irvine recently hosted its second annual “Phi Delt Cares” philanthropy event this past week. The event is a non-competitive philanthropy that aims to raise funds and awareness for the UC Irvine Campus Assault Resources and Education (CARE) Office.

The philanthropic event is simple in nature as the brothers of California Theta sell “Opportunity Tickets” that have the opportunity to result in such prizes as Disneyland tickets, a set of Greek letters and gift cards to a variety of local businesses. Through the ticket sales, California Theta Phis were able to raise $700 for the CARE office in just three days, and the check was presented to the CARE office directors. The chapter looks forward to continuing to work with CARE in the future.
