The Arizona Gamma Chapter of Phi Delta Theta at Northern Arizona University holds their annual Powder Puff football tournament each spring. This year, the chapter decided to donate the proceeds to Camp Kesem. Camp Kesem serves children who have lost a parent to cancer, have a parent undergoing cancer treatment, or whose parent is a cancer survivor – an estimated population of over 3 million children in the United States.
The brothers of Arizona Gamma thought it would be a phenomenal idea to use the money raised from Powder Puff to send children to this incredible camp. Camp Kesem does not charge their campers a single penny to attend. However, it costs the camp $500 per camper. In order to make that happen, Camp Kesem is entirely funded by individual and group donations.
Through the brothers’ hard work, they were able to raise $1,500, enough to send three campers to Camp Kesem.
