Ohio Epsilon (Akron) Wins Songfest Competition



On April 10, the University of Akron held the 83rd annual Songfest. Songfest is a competition hosted by the Fraternity and Sorority Life community. The event is a fundraiser for Camp Quality, a local summer camp for children with cancer. UA Greek Life has forged a strong relationship with the camp and raised nearly $7,000 at this year’s Songfest. Ohio Epsilon donated $1,1311.69 to the cause. The donation will allow seven campers to attend the camp for free. Ohio Epsilon finished first among fraternities in the competition, their fourth first place finish in five years. The chapter also won: Best Male Solo (Chris Meffert,) Best Props, Most Creative Fraternity and Most Entertaining Fraternity.

The performance was choreographed by Bryce Yamat and directed by Dimitri Georgiadis. Ziad Al-noubani, Evan Beach, John Beach, Juan Camacho, Alex DeChurch, AJ Gooden, Teddy Helton, Josh Hillegass, Chris Meffert, Dominic Musili, Ben Nelson, Suliman Pervaiz, Todd Rexroad, Tyler Saucier, Garret Scherba, Todd Simmons, Kyle Sprietzer, and Colin Wilson participated in the event.
