Members of the Missouri Alpha Colony of Phi Delta Theta at the University of Missouri helped raise over $300 for Marianna Lynn Burch, a local 16-month-old girl with neuroblastoma. More than 10 Missouri Alpha colony members took part in a bake sale fundraiser on Tuesday, October 25, to support the Burch family’s goal of raising $35,000.

The Burch family needs at least $24,000 to pay for a surgery that will remove the tumor on Marianna Lynn’s brain stem.

Missouri Alpha members raised $303 in five and a half hours from their bake sale in Speakers Circle on the University of Missouri campus. They sold homemade brownies and lemonade to students, professors, and Columbia residents who walked through the public area. Members passed out fliers to those who passed the sale. The note said, “Thank you for being sweet today.” On the back side of each handout was a link to the GoFundMe page that Marianna Lynn’s mother has set up.
