Emporia Alumni Club Raises $3,000 at Emporia State Homecoming Pole-Sit

The preliminary total of dollars raised in support of SOS, Inc. at the Emporia State Homecoming Weekend festivities is $3,016.42.

The 24-hour pole-sit at 12th & Commercial St. was conducted by the Emporia Phi Delta Theta Fraternity Alumni Club through Emporia State Alumni Relations.

2017 marked the 32nd annual initiative to raise dollars for SOS, Inc. to provide victims of sexual and domestic violence, child abuse and neglect shelter, advocacy, and support across a six-county region.

The Emporia Phi Delta Theta Alumni Chapter was founded in January 1909 by two Famous Phis, William Allen White and Brock Pemberton, and other Phis living in the Emporia area. Since the first Homecoming Pole-Sit for SOS, Inc. in 1986, over $80,000 has been raised to support this vital local agency.
