Phi Delta Theta is proud to announce the colonization of Virginia Iota at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. A group of 27 young men officially accepted their titles as colony members of Phi Delta Theta on January 7, 2018. The ceremony comes at the tail-end of months of preparation and recruitment, and the well-balanced colony is excited to start a new legacy that will have a presence at the University for years to come.
The colonization ceremony was held at the Norfolk Yacht and Country Club with 27 members being inducted into the group, all with an excitement for what the future holds as they begin this journey towards becoming a chapter of Phi Delta Theta. The ceremony was officiated by the Delta North Province President Scott Lynch (Pittsburgh ’97), who had kind words for the newly inducted members. He encouraged them, as well as all present, to chart their own path and to be members that hold the name of Phi Delta Theta with pride.
Members of the Colony Advisory Board, Jeremy Laws – Chairman (Nebraska ’09) and Kevin Rice (Georgia Southern ’88), were in attendance. Also attending the event was Tyler Wilson (Georgia Southern ’16), Colony Development Specialist for Phi Delta Theta.
Family, friends, and guests were also in attendance in a show of support for the success of the colony. The newly established colony wishes to thank all who attended their ceremony as they begin this journey towards installation as the Virginia Iota Chapter of Phi Delta Theta.
