Pennsylvania Zeta (Pennsylvania) Improves Lives of Children Through Dream Organization

02.28.2018

Dream is a nationally-recognized, philanthropic organization that emphasizes improving the lives of underprivileged children. The Dream chapter at the University of Pennsylvania was founded by members of Phi Delta Theta, and they continue to run the organization each year.

Every Friday afternoon the chapter ventures to the West Park housing project to mentor a group of children who range from 5-15 years old. The activities can be educational or just good old-fashioned fun. Chapter brothers have taken field trips this year that include ice skating, going to the movie theater, going out to eat, Trick or Treating, and more. When the weather is nice, kids like to play sports outside, and on colder days they can play board-games inside their youth center.

The brothers of Phi Delta Theta love to participate in Dream because they get to give back to the local community that often times seems detached from Penn’s campus. As a fraternity whose values are centered on philanthropy, Dream is an excellent way to portray what Phi Delta Theta is all about.
