Missouri Zeta (Southeast Missouri State) Receives Phoenix Award For Most Improved Phi Delta Theta Chapter

06.27.2018

The Valley of the Sun Alumni Club created the Phoenix Award in 2002 to recognize a chapter that has shown dramatic improvement over the course of previous academic year. The winning chapter is selected based on its improvement in 14 critical areas of chapter operations as well as additional information provided by the Province President, General Headquarters staff, and university officials.

The winner of this year’s Phoenix Award is Missouri Zeta at Southeast Missouri State. The chapter saw an improvement in virtually all areas of chapter operations during the 2017-18 academic year. Just a year ago, Missouri Zeta admitted to struggling in the areas of recruitment, scholarship, and a disenfranchised brotherhood. The chapter began the 2017-18 academic year with an extensive executive retreat, at which they clearly outlined several tangible goals for the upcoming year. Included within these goals was increased alumni involvement, improved recruitment tactics, and an increased focus on philanthropy and community service.

As the year came to a close, the chapter was proud to announce that they had met each one of their goals and even far surpassed several of them. As a result, the chapter saw remarkable improvement in the involvement of brothers and a significant increase in overall GPA.

Congratulations to the brothers of the Missouri Zeta Chapter, this year’s winner of the Phoenix Award!
