Phi Delta Theta to Deliver 4-Week Virtual New Member (Phikeia) Educational Experience

03.29.2020

As many things that we consider normal are changing or halting, there is one thing that can and should continue on for our newest members: their Phi Delta Theta experience. While in-person experiences such as community service or intramurals are on hold, continual engagement with one another is vital given our new circumstances.

Phi Delta Theta’s General Headquarters will be hosting a four-week virtual Phikeia education experience beginning on Thursday, April 2. This program will serve as a complement to the Phikeia education program that was started at chapter when a new member signed his bid. Participants will have the opportunity to learn and connect even further with Phi Delta Theta, our history, values, and other Phikeias from across North America.

Each Thursday from 4:00–5:00 P.M. EST, starting on Thursday, April 2, a virtual Phikeia meeting will be hosted for those who register. Each virtual Phikeia meeting will cover Phi Delta Theta-specific content, important lessons from the Phikeia Manual, and unique aspects from the Fraternity’s 170 years.

Along with the four virtual Phikeia meetings, the following resources and materials will be issued to help deliver a best-in-class experience:

  • PDT U Modules: Friendship, Sound Learning, and Rectitude
  • Readings from Phikeia: The Manual of Phi Delta Theta
  • Other materials to complement both the modules and readings
  • Additional opportunities for connecting online

To register for the virtual Phikeia education experience, please visit this link. The program is free and there are no repercussions if a new member chooses not to participate. This opportunity will be hosted for any Phikeia who would like to continue to strengthen his understanding of and connection to Phi Delta Theta.

It is our hope that, by participating in this virtual program, new members will be even more prepared to take full-advantage of their Phi Delt experience when in-person courses begin in the future. Through improving their knowledge of Phi Delta Theta and connecting with fellow Phikeias, they will have had a once-in-a-lifetime experience that will contribute greatly to their membership in our organization.

We look forward to working with our new members to provide an engaging and educational experience. All questions should be directed to Chapter Services Coordinator Todd Simmons.
