Pursuit of Greatness
Michael Beyman – Cornell

Michael Beyman, Cornell ’10, is recognized for his professional success and commitment to giving back to the community. Both as a business leader and a Cornell volunteer, Mike works to deliver positive impacts on organizations.

Currently, Mike is the senior director of strategy and operations for Conde Nast Entertainment, where he leads development of long-range planning, strategic opportunity development, IP monetization, and operational improvement for Conde Nast’s digital-video, audio, television, and film production team. Previously, Mike was a consultant with McKinsey and Company, where he primarily focused on media transformation and innovation.

Earlier in his career, Mike was a field producer for CNBC Business News, producing award winning documentaries on topics of economic interest, including on prisons housing white-collar criminals, cannabis in Colorado one year after legalization, and the treasure hunt at Costco Wholesale. While at CNBC, Mike’s work was nominated for an Emmy. Many of his fraternity brothers reflect fondly of his time at CNBC, where he was always willing to provide a tour of the studios at 30 Rock and to treat students to a meal in the employee commissary.

Mike remains a committed Cornell alumni volunteer. In addition to his support and mentorship of brothers, he serves on the board of the student radio station WVBR, where, as a student, he was news director, oversaw weekend talk programming, and served as the station’s outreach to the Cornell and Ithaca communities.

After graduating from Cornell with an economics degree in 2010, Mike received his MBA from Columbia Business School in 2017. He lives in Connecticut with his husband, Josh, who is pursuing a master’s degree in social work while actively counseling young people to help better their community. Mike and Josh are devoted parents to their mini-Australian shepherd, Pepper.
