Phi Delta Theta Installs New Jersey Epsilon at Montclair State University

Montclair State University welcomed the New Jersey Epsilon Chapter of Phi Delta Theta on May 15, 2021. Over the past two years, the founders of New Jersey Epsilon have weathered the pandemic storm and have worked diligently to earn their charter.

The installation ceremony was conducted by Province President Fred Reimer, Leadership Consultant Corbin Lovelady, and New Jersey Epsilon Chapter Advisory Board Chairman Moe Jaman. Joining the group virtually for the installation ceremony was Past President of the General Council and current General Council Member-at-Large Michael Scarlatelli. Members of the New Jersey Alpha (Rutgers) Chapter Tom Mueller, Brian Thumm, and Michael Thumm also attended, giving Michael the unique experience of welcoming his son, James, into the new chapter.

Although the past year had many challenges, the brothers of New Jersey Epsilon did not let the pandemic get in their way as they excelled in many categories, including being recognized for the highest IFC GPA on the Montclair States campus (3.45).

Chapter President Patrick Clackner could not be prouder of the chapter.

“Our brothers overcame adversity and blazed their way to this accomplishment in one of the most difficult times in recent history,” said Clackner. “Instead of sitting around and waiting, they inspired our campus, they inspired each other, and they inspired me to leave this Fraternity better than I found it.”

New Jersey Epsilon also welcomed their campus advisor, Casey Coleman, as an honorary brother. Coleman, who has been their advisor since the start of the fall 2020 semester, is eager to see what the future holds.

“It was an empowering ceremony and honor to see this group come so far,” said Coleman. “They seem to be extremely motivated to keep up the good work, and I’m excited to be alongside them.”

Congratulations to the New Jersey Epsilon Chapter of Phi Delta Theta at Montclair State University!
