The Phikeia Education pilot program is a flexible experience that combines the chapter’s personality with a standardized framework that focuses on recruitment, brotherhood, philanthropy, and scholarship. This experience serves as the foundation for a four-year member development experience that helps members grow personally and stay actively engaged in the chapter.

After the first year of the pilot program, 56 chapters and colonies were challenged to think creatively, re-evaluate chapter traditions, and begin a process of culture change. One hundred percent of the chapters that participated in the pilot program completed it, and ninety six percent of all Phikeias were retained and initiated. Recently, an additional 46 chapters and colonies have signed on to begin the pilot program experience in fall 2020. We are excited that 102 chapters and colonies are now participating in the pilot program.

To attend the Phikeia Experience College you must be a recruitment chairman or Phikeia educator from a chapter enrolled in the Phikeia education pilot program. From August 3-7, Phikeia Experience College participants will spend two hours each day participating in virtual general sessions and breakout groups where they will learn about the Phikeia education pilot program, the Phikeia educator and recruitment chairman roles, why Phi Delta Theta is piloting a new Phikeia education model, and the framework and skills to successfully facilitate a more safe, efficient, and effective new member education experience.

Participants will:

• Identify resources for the Phikeia education pilot program.
• Know and explain the value of brotherhood and apply it to the recruitment and Phikeia education experience.
• Identify and develop facilitation strategies and apply them to their Phikeia education program.
• Recognize and understand how to intervene in high-risk situations (sexual assault, hazing, violence, mental health, alcohol/other drugs, and bias-related incidents)
• Integrate the pilot program framework into their recruitment and Phikeia education experience.

The 2020 Phikeia Experience College will take place virtually from August 3-7 through the Fraternity’s PDT U online platform.
