Rich Porter, Indiana State ’77, is a native of Hammond, Indiana. He graduated with a business management degree from Indiana State University, was a member of the ISU track and field team, and was initiated into the Indiana Eta Chapter.
Rich’s professional career has spanned 40 years of service with a number of companies, such as Kimball International, Rockwell International, and Ingersoll International. For the last 12 years Rich has been a partner in a private equity partnership. He has built a platform of companies housed in in manufacturing locations in both Ohio and New Hampshire. Along with being the operating partner of the private equity platform, Rich serves on a public company board (Nasdaq) and five private (for profit) company boards.
Having fulfilled his professional goals, Rich began to volunteer his time to the philanthropic world. Today Rich serves as secretary of the Indiana State University Foundation Board, as chair of the James Cancer Hospital (Ohio State University) Foundation Board, and the Englewood, Ohio YMCA Board.
Rich and his wife Robin currently live in Troy, Ohio and Sun City Hilton Head. Their daughter Michele is a nurse practitioner at The James Cancer Hospital Ohio State, specializing in blood cancers.
