On Friday, October 7, 2016, Phis from the Indiana Mu Chapter at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis presented a portrait of former President of the United States Benjamin Harrison to the Columbia Club Foundation, located in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The portrait is of Benjamin Harrison when he was 23 years old. The portrait of Brother Harrison was commissioned by Brother Tom McKnight, Miami University ’70. Several copies of the portrait have been donated to organizations in Oxford, Ohio and Indianapolis, Indiana that had a relationship with Brother Harrison. In the portrait, Harrison is wearing the badge of Phi Delta Theta on his left lapel. The Columbia Club Foundation is deeply rooted in Benjamin Harrison history. In 1888, the Columbia Club Foundation united their efforts to help elect Benjamin Harrison as the 23rd President of the United States. As a token of their appreciation, Indiana Mu decided to donate the portrait to the Columbia Club.
