After a long-standing relationship, the General Council of Phi Delta Theta has elected to end its relationship with The ALS Association. The decision was made to ensure that the dollars being raised by members of Phi Delta Theta have the opportunity to make the greatest impact on the fight against Lou Gehrig’s disease (ALS).
In the coming months, Phi Delta Theta will be introducing a new ALS-focused initiative. The initiative will further mobilize and empower its members, strengthen the Fraternity’s ability to show greater impact on research and support to families affected by the disease, and establish a focused charge as Phi Delta Theta positions itself as a leader in the fight against Brother Gehrig’s namesake disease.
In the interim, we encourage our members, chapters, and alumni clubs to continue to support the Iron Phi program. Iron Phi dollars raised for ALS research in 2017 and beyond will continue to be used for ALS research and applied to the Fraternity’s soon-to-be-announced initiative. Questions regarding current philanthropic efforts can be directed to Vice President of Growth and Communications Steve Good at sgood@phideltatheta.org.
