Phi Delta Theta Fraternity is excited to announce the re-installation of the New York Eta Chapter at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). New York Eta colonized on April 29, 2018, and after boasting excellent recruitment numbers and the highest new member GPA on campus, they satisfied the requirements to charter and began setting their goals for the future. These accomplishments culminated with their installation weekend on March 29-30, 2019, exactly 11 months after their colonization.
On March 29, New York Eta Colony members gathered at a private classroom on campus for their initiation ceremony. Led by General Council President Dr. Chris W. Brussalis, the ceremony was performed by Tyler Wilson (Colony Development Specialist), Alex Atkinson (Director of Expansion), and a host of New York Eta alumni.
On March 30, the colony members, New York Eta alumni, RIT Fraternity and Sorority Life Administrators, GHQ representatives, friends, and family gathered at River’s Edge, a local banquet hall, for their installation ceremony. Presided over by Dr. Chris W. Brussalis, Colony President William Sokol was presented with the charter and a ceremonial gavel for the new chapter.
On March 31, the new brothers of the New York Eta Chapter gathered for a ritual review with Tyler Wilson. At the gathering, ritual was reinforced, the chapter set goals for the future, and a plan of action was developed to reach these goals.
The newly instated New York Eta Chapter of Phi Delta Theta wishes to extend gratitude to all those who helped in making this 11-month transition back to campus a tremendous success. The brothers look forward to re-connecting with chapter alumni and continuing their already tremendous success for years to come.
