Phi Delta Theta Installs North Dakota Beta at North Dakota State University

On December 18, 2021, the North Dakota Beta Emerging Chapter at North Dakota State University was officially installed as a chapter of Phi Delta Theta.

During the evening of December 17, General Council President Moe Stephens II led the initiation ceremony for the new brothers at Memorial Union on campus. Thirty-two members of North Dakota Beta are now proud brothers in The Bond.

The following day, the North Dakota Beta installation ceremony was conducted by General Council President Moe Stephens, General Council Member-at-Large Tom Balzer, Director of Chapter Support Todd Simmons, Chapter Support Coordinators Mason Whitis and John Fenner, and Chapter Advisory Board Chairman Derek Steiner.

The North Dakota Beta Chapter was led by Founding Father and Chapter President Connor Crago. Connor couldn’t be more proud of the chapter being installed at North Dakota State University. “There are a few times in life where a man gets the opportunity to leave his mark. To be sure that the choices he made in his life did something to better the world. Fortunately, for the men of North Dakota Beta, they already have. The North Dakota Beta Chapter of Phi Delta Theta will serve for generations as an institution to empower young men to become the greatest version of themselves,” Crago said in his speech during the ceremony.

Chapter Support Coordinator Mason Whitis also shared his excitement about the group’s installation. “This is the first installation that I have had the pleasure of being a part of, and I am so proud that North Dakota Beta was my first. These men have really set the foundation for what they want their chapter to be for many years to come.”

During their time on campus as an emerging chapter of Phi Delta Theta, the men of North Dakota Beta developed strong relations within the IFC community. Coordinator for Fraternity and Sorority Life Jordan DiPalma shared that the IFC community claimed that “Phi Delt did not come to play, and they hold themselves and the rest of the community accountable.” During their first year, North Dakota Beta raised $1,000 for the LiveLikeLou Foundation and developed a strong passion for finding a cure for ALS.

With the introduction of Phi Delta Theta at North Dakota State University, the brothers of North Dakota Beta want to create a foundation for the next generations to come, hoping that they have the same vision as the founding fathers. The chapter has set a goal to be an open space for brothers, and they pride themselves on retaining the brotherhood within and maintaining the traditions they have set in motion.

Phi Delta Theta is proud to introduce the North Dakota Beta Chapter at North Dakota State University, and the Fraternity looks forward to seeing the great things to come!
