Jennifer Morrow, Phi Delta Theta’s communications coordinator, is taking on the additional role of the Dr. William F. Dean Endowed Chair in Editing and Alumni Relations as the editor of The Scroll.
In addition to continuing her duties as the magazine’s designer, Jennifer will work with undergraduates, alumni, and GHQ staff to create and gather content, proofread, and ensure all messaging aligns with the values of the Fraternity. Jennifer is excited to step into the enormous shoes that previous editors created. She especially wants to thank Kelly Derickson for her friendship and guidance over the past five years.
“I can’t wait to see Jennifer’s leadership shine as we continue to develop our beloved magazine, The Scroll, said Senior Vice President of Engagement and Philanthropy Steve Good. Over the past fifteen years, Jennifer has played an integral role in developing the strategy, content, and design for the magazine, so she is a natural fit to take on the editor role. Her creativity, knowledge of the organization, storytelling ability, and amazing attention to detail will all be seen through the content in future editions of the magazine.”
Before joining the General Headquarters staff in July 2016, Jennifer worked in small advertising agencies. Her primary duties were design, production, web development, and customer relations. She brings over twenty-five years of experience as a graphic designer to the Fraternity, with fifteen of those years working on projects for Phi Delta Theta, including The Scroll, educational conference books, and Convention materials. In college, she dreamed of editing books; this new role is mission accomplished.
Jennifer graduated from Ohio University with a BA in English and a minor in history. Her love of reading, history, and travel led her to study abroad in Wales at Swansea University during her junior year. Jennifer lives in Kettering, Ohio, with her husband, Mark, and three cats. Outside the office, she enjoys yoga, cycling, travel, music, gardening, cooking, and photography.
