Members of the Ohio Gamma Chapter and alumni have nominated their long serving brother, Brian Bastock, Ohio ’88, for the Road to Greatness campaign for his commitment to the chapter since the day he graduated from Ohio University.
Brother Bastock was a chapter leader as an undergraduate and served the chapter as its president, vice president, and treasurer. He has been a member of the chapter advisory board since 2007 and is currently serving as treasurer of the Ohio Gamma House Corporation and vice president of the Athens Alumni Club. He is a member of the Fraternity’s loyalty program, True Blue Society, and as a regular donor to the Phi Delta Theta Foundation as a member of the Sword and Shield Society.
Brother Bastock is vice president of supply chain at ShurTech Brands LLC in Avon, Ohio. He has experience in all areas of supply chain management in the consumer-packaged goods space serving retailers in multiple channels of distribution. He excels in strategic supply chain design (make vs buy, global vs. domestic source) with a clear understanding of the interrelatedness of supply chain functions. His strong financial management skills along with well-developed data analysis and modeling skills, positively impact his work. Finally, he has experience in key aspects of mergers and acquisition integration as they relate to the supply chain.
“If fortunate, every family has a rock who consistently serves in a foundational role and supports the family as it navigates both challenging and prosperous times. Brian is that rock for the Ohio Gamma Chapter. Since pledging, his leadership and support has been unwavering for more than 35 years. He has been the light for the chapter during its darkest times, when membership fell and there was little to no alumni support.”
Brother Bastock’s passion for Phi Delta Theta and Ohio Gamma is palpable to all. As an example, Brian has returned for the chapter homecoming activities every year since graduation. Most significantly he has organized and is working with General Headquarters and Ohio Gamma alumni on a year-long fundraising campaign to purchase a new chapter house. That campaign us under way and the chapter is committed to establishing an enduring prominence on campus. Many thanks to Brother Bastock, because he daily lives out the Phikeia Oath, and tirelessly transmits the Fraternity to those who have followed after, not only, not less, but greater than it was transmitted to him.
