Brian Niccol, CEO of Chipotle, Visits His Phi Delta Theta Chapter in Oxford

This May, Miami University welcomed back one of its distinguished alumni, Brian Niccol, Miami ‘96, to address the graduating class of 2024. The commencement ceremony, held on May 18, 2024, was marked by an inspiring speech delivered by Niccol, the CEO of Chipotle Mexican Grill and a proud member of Phi Delta Theta.

Graduating from the Ohio Alpha Chapter, the founding chapter of Phi Delta Theta located at Miami University, Niccol’s return to his alma mater was a reminder of the power of education, networking and connection. During his address, Niccol shared insights drawn from his own experiences, offering guidance and inspiration to the graduating class as they embarked on their professional journeys.

“Being back on campus naturally brings me back here. For me, those bonds with fellow graduates have remained strong, with a little help from fantasy football and a few fraternity brothers . . . I say all this to emphasize the importance of being a good friend when you leave Miami. In the good times and in bad.”

Phi Delta Theta extends its heartfelt congratulations to Brian Niccol for his exemplary leadership and continued commitment to the Fraternity and collegiate experience. His contributions to both Miami University and the broader community exemplify the spirit of Phi Delta Theta and serve as a source of inspiration for future generations.

In addition to his ongoing commitment to Phi Delta Theta, Brian Niccol’s dedication to excellence was recognized at the 2023 Phi Delta Theta General Convention, where he was honored with the prestigious Nance-Millett Free Enterprise Award. This accolade underscores Niccol’s outstanding contributions to the business world and his embodiment of the principles of free enterprise.

Lifelong Engagement

Brian’s service to the Fraternity is a shining example of Lifelong Engagement. At the heart of everything we do is this promise to each and every member of our organization—to become the greatest version of themself. To achieve this, Phi Delta Theta encourages its members to embody three key initiatives: Adaptive Leadership, Fulfilled Potential, and Lifelong Engagement.
