Pursuit of Greatness
Dan Pfau – Cincinnati

Daniel A. Pfau, Cincinnati ’59, and Susan Pfau are actively involved in programs serving disabled and disadvantaged youth, and in organizations promoting the Greater Cincinnati area. The Daniel and Susan Pfau Foundation complements the Pfaus’ personal charitable efforts.

The Pfau Foundation’s primary focus is on the education, health, cultural experience, and social welfare of disabled children, adolescents, young adults (to age 30), and their families. A secondary focus is on disadvantaged children, adolescents, young adults (to age 30), and their families. There is a special interest in programs which help clients realize their full potential.

Additional areas of interest for the Foundation are the support of large regional arts and cultural organizations and recreation areas.

One such wonderful example of the Pfaus generosity is the Cincinnati Youth Collaborative (CYC). CYC was founded by in collaboration with the business community and public schools as a way to fight declining graduation rates and poor employment statistics, as an investment in the next generation. The Pfaus have been recognized as a CYC Heroes.

The mission was the calling card: connecting at-risk youth with positive adult figures to inspire them to live up to their full potential. It is a mission that spoke to the Susan and Daniel Pfau and their investment helped CYC grow.

Daniel and Susan Pfau continue to advocate for CYC mentoring programs, generously supporting this vital work with their time, their talent, and their foundation, committed to their belief that all children and families can succeed with care and support.

Brother Pfau served the Cincinnati Theta Chapter of Phi Delta Theta as president and alumni secretary when he was at UC during the 1950s where he earned his bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering.
