Brother Wingo serves as host of ESPN’s NFL Live, the network’s five-night-per-week NFL news and information program, and is heavily involved with ESPN’s NFL Draft coverage. Besides his NFL duties, Wingo is also host of the network’s NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament and serves as anchor for SportsCenter, ESPN’s flagship sports-news program and also contributes commentaries for ESPN Radio.
Brother Wingo has “Gone Far” with the ESPN family for over ten years, joining the network in November 1997 as an ESPNEWS anchor. He has served as primary anchor of the 6 p.m. edition of SportsCenter and has been featured regularly on the 1 and 2 a.m. overnight editions of the program.
He has also hosted ESPN’s Baseball Tonight and ESPN2’s NFL 2Night and NBA 2Night shows. Brother Wingo has been involved in the NFL Draft, hosting a six-hour chat on ESPN.com during the 2000 Draft and hosting ESPN Radio’s coverage. He has also been a regular contributor on ESPN Radio with weekly commentaries and periodic work on the GameNight and GameDay shows.
A native of Greenwich, Connecticut, Brother Wingo graduated from Baylor University with a bachelor’s degree in communications. Before arriving at ESPN, he was a sports anchor at KSDK-TV in St. Louis, Missouri from 1991-1997. Prior to his time in St. Louis, Brother Wingo served in various sports broadcasting capacities at stations in Allentown, Binghamton, and New York City.
Brother Wingo has won six Mid-America regional Emmy awards for reporting, including three straight years for outstanding sports reporting.
