Hayden Hatch of Texas Epsilon was recently elected Student Body President of Texas Tech University. He ran on issues that relate to the student body on a daily basis such as academic calendar revisions, intramural sports expansion, and extending the use of the Tech ID card to off campus restaurants. He and his vice presidents hope to set practical goals and make a tangible change on the TTU campus.
Brother Hatch is a Junior Political Science major with a minor in Legal Studies. He will graduate in May 2015 with plans to attend Law School the following fall. He has had extensive experience in the Student Government Association at TTU including serving as the Freshman Student Council President (2011-2013), a Senator for the Arts and Sciences College (2012-2013), and a Senator At Large (2013-2014). Within Phi Delta Theta Texas Epsilon, he has served as the Interfraternity Council Delegate and as the Community Service Chairman.
There were two other Phis elected to the Student Senate this year at TTU. Evan Johnson will serve as a Rawls College of Business Senator as well as Sergeant at Arms, and Tanner Culp will serve as a Whitacre College of Engineering Senator.
Brother Hatch is the 16th Texas Epsilon Phi to be elected the Student Body President of Texas Tech University. He believes that he could not have reached this position if it were not for the skills he cultivated and the values he bolstered through Phi Delta Theta.
