Georgia Southern University’s Office of Leadership and Community Engagement was honored to present Jabari Thomas of Georgia Epsilon the Dr. Todd Deal Rising Star Award during the 22nd Annual Leadership Awards and Recognition Day on April 26, 2019. The award is presented annually to rising student leaders with less than two years of dedicated involvement in student life, and to those who have exemplified a commitment to enhancing Georgia Southern campus life.
The Leadership Awards are presented annually by the Office of Leadership and Community Engagement to celebrate the many contributions students, student organizations, as well as faculty and staff have made to the university. Students and student organizations are nominated by faculty, staff, and other students for consideration for the Leadership Awards. Through the annual Leadership Awards, the Georgia Southern University and the Office of Leadership and Community Engagement are able to recognize active student leaders, faculty, and staff who have dedicated their time and service to leading positive change in their communities.
Georgia Southern University’s Office of Leadership and Community Engagement utilizes an integrated theoretical approach to learning, service, and leadership that seeks to empower students to become active, global citizens who lead positive change.
